Secure Solar Futures combines state-of-the-art solar technology with an innovative business model to make commercial-scale solar power readily affordable in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast, helping customers to realize the economic, environmental and community benefits of solar energy.

Secure Solar Futures is a certified B Corp solar development company that has previously collaborated with Intuit to help K-12 schools enter into 25-year solar Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and start workforce development programs. The company was instrumental in getting legislation passed to legalize solar PPAs in Virginia in 2013 and in West Virginia in 2021 and serves as an authentic solar industry leader in both states.

Intuit is the global technology platform that helps consumers and small businesses overcome their most important financial challenges. As part of its Climate Positive program commitment to reduce 2 million MT CO2e outside of its operational footprint by 2030, Intuit is proud to be a founding partner and co-creator of the Coalfield Solar Fund. We are also proud to be working with coalfield communities to create meaningful economic opportunities and take bold climate action.

Intuit’s commitment to enabling economic wellbeing for people and underserved communities is evident in these partnerships and initiatives. Through the Coalfield Solar Fund, we are working to sustainably power prosperity and to drive positive social, economic, and environmental impact.

As advisory council members for the Coalfield Solar Fund, Intuit is actively working to foster sustainable and inclusive economic growth in these communities. Additionally, Intuit is incorporating its signature job readiness programs into Coalfield Solar Fund educational offerings.

NEED, the National Energy Education Development Project, is a national nonprofit organization that focuses on solar education for public schools and teachers, and has a history of working with Secure Solar Futures in providing educational training services for solar schools and also working as a grant fund administrator.
